The Key to a Healthy Visage: 8 Tips for Keeping Your Skin Hydrated

Every woman wants beautiful and healthy skin. What many women do not know is that moisturizing the skin once a day with a cream is not enough to keep it hydrated. Fortunately, there are various products and techniques available to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. Below is a closer look at eight tips you can accomplish this.

Choose the Right Moisturizer

Dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, combination skin, and normal skin are categories of skin that many women display. Knowing your skin type will help you determine which moisturizer is best. For example, if you have oily skin, then a lightweight mattifying moisturizer is best for you. Conduct an online search to learn more here about more tips regarding ways to hydrate your skin.

Apply Moisturizer to Damp Skin

Once you have picked a moisturizer, applying it correctly is vital. Make sure your skin is damp and then apply moisturizer as directed. That will lock in the hydration much better than if the moisturizer is applied to a dry face. Apply moisturizer in the morning and at night.

Use a Hydrating Serum

If you require extra hydration, consider using a hydrating serum. A serum is typically applied after cleansing but before applying moisturizer. Not only does it hydrate the skin, but it reduces the appearance of wrinkles and plumps the skin, giving you a more youthful look.

Use a Face Mask

Using a face mask is an easy way to give your skin the hydration it needs. Do this once a week and be ready to see the results immediately. There are many masks (and brands) to choose from, so talk to your dermatologist or esthetician to see which ones they recommend.

Use an Eye Cream

Many women think using an eye cream is for mature skin, but that is not the case. The skin around the eyes can lose moisture, just like the rest of the face. Because the skin around the eyes is the most fragile and thin skin found on the body, it is important to give it care and attention. Find an eye cream you like and add it to your daily routine.

Use Facial Spray Throughout the Day

You can still moisturize during the day and when you have makeup on by using a moisturizing face mist. Look for a mist that contains glycerin, as this ingredient helps lock in moisture. You can spray this on anytime during the day, and it will not disrupt the look of your makeup.

Don’t Take Long Showers

Taking a long shower may feel good, but it leads to dry skin. In the winter, it is best to keep showers short and warm. Once you are finished, double up on your moisturizer and apply it to damp skin.

Drink Plenty of Water

We have all heard this before, but drinking plenty of water is healthy for your entire body and great for your skin. To help you drink more, get a glass or stainless steel bottle that can be carried around. If you don’t like the taste of plain water, add fresh fruit, like lemons, strawberries, watermelon, or cucumber to provide an extra, pleasant taste.

Hydrating your skin is important in maintaining a healthy and young visage. There are various ways to do so, and you must follow some of the tips and recommendations.
