Now that I am 9 months postpartum, I think it’s time for me to get back in shape. And for me to achieve that, I have to cut down my carb and sugar intake. The thing is, I love bread! My morning is incomplete without it and a cup of my favorite coffee. On some days, I substitute them as my lunch and dinner. Thinking about getting rid of bread in my diet will make me go crazy!

But lo and behold, I became hopeful when I learned about Hearty Bread. You wanna know why? Because they are Gluten-Free and Sugar-Free, pwede pala yun?! I never thought that my “balik alindog” program could be easier. Plus, there are many benefits to why you should go Gluten-Free!

Why You should go Gluten-Free?

Hearty Bread started out as suppliers for some of the major hospitals in the Metro. They cater to doctors and in-house patients with conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and many more. Evan Dykimching (one of the founders of Hearty Bread) recalls that when one of their family members got confined in the hospital, they were surprised that the price of the bread (including the best gluten free protein powder) was quite high because of several administrative fees.

With the company’s desire to promote affordable and quality health, they created the brand “Hearty Bread” to make healthy bread readily available and affordable to the general public. To give you an idea, most of the gluten-free/sugar-free bread in the market sells 500php to 600php per loaf. Imagine that hefty price tag!

Evan and his team invested in research and development in order to come up with bread that is double the size and sell them at half the price. Hearty Bread’s Almond Loaf line retails at only 180Php for the plain Almond Loaf while their Cheesy variants – Cheesy Charcoal and Cheesy Coffee are pegged at 250php/loaf.

They also have other products such as their Sourdough/Probiotic line which includes Malunggay Sourdough Pandesal which sells at 40php/6pcs, while their other Sourdough loaf sells at 115php. Their fruit loaves are also in demand, Banana Sourdough Loaf retails at 200php, Banoffee Walnut Sourdough Loaf, and Pumpkin Carrot Sourdough Loaf sells at 280php/ Loaf. These are all Gluten- Free/Sugar-free!

Oh my gosh, that expensive but healthy naman pala! Walang store dito sa amin that offers gluten-free. Ang dami pang variants. Masarap din kasi kumain ng bread after a meal. Tapos isawsaw sa coffee or milo.

Must try para sa momsh na mahilig magdiet pero di mapigil sa pagkaen like me. More on bread din. Breastfeed mom kasi ako always gutom kaya laging kumakain. Bread lagi napapagdiskitahan kasi mabilis lang makabili. Nababahala naman ako sa bilbil ko lumulubo na. Kaya need ko makatry niyang gluten free bread. Mukhang masarap kahit pricey.
