It’s important to take care of your skin on a daily basis, especially if we want to have healthy glowing skin as we age.

We don’t think about what we do to our skin when we’re younger and we also don’t realize that what we put in our bodies can affect how our skin looks years later. I can most certainly attest to that, especially when I was in my twenties. I slept in makeup, I stayed out all night without getting enough sleep, I ate and drank whatever I wanted, unaware that what I was consuming was not in my best interest.

Back then I wish the beauty fairy visited me in my dreams to warn me that what I was doing would wreak havoc on my skin at a later date. Luckily, I found my way as I got older and began taking care of my hair, skin, and nails. Skin is the body’s largest organ and what we put in it, can show on the outside, even when we don’t want it to. Below are some products and some of my favorite might I add that will help rejuvenate your skin and a few of them as an added bonus can help rejuvenate your hair as well.

  • Shea Butter
  • Coconut Oil
  • Lemon Essential Oil
  • Frankincense Essential Oil
  • Josie Maran 100-percent Pure Argan Oil
  • Lavender Essential Oil
  • Carrot Seed Oil
  • Myrrh Essential Oil

SHEA BUTTER

Shea Butter is one of my favorite skin care secrets. It comes from the nuts of the Shea tree. It contains vitamins E and A which keeps your skin healthy and also protects it from the sun. The vitamin E helps with the skin’s elasticity and keeps the skin from drying out. You can slather shea butter on your body and watch it transform. You can put it on the head to toe and it’s super affordable. Not to mention, there are multiple varieties of it including raw and pure, which means it’s in its natural form, free from impurities and has not been processed at all. It’s an amazing remedy for dry skin, it softens skin, reduces wrinkles, scars and blemishes, stretch marks and it fights inflammation.

Shea butter also increases the production of collagen; you can use it as a lip balm and so much more. The best part of it is you can also use Shea Butter for hair.

COCONUT OIL

Coconut Oil is another one of my favorites that is super affordable. It’s another go-to of mine and I sometimes use it in the place of lotion. You can use it as a carrier oil for so many different essential oils as well. I use it in my hair after washing, I use it on my body, my feet, my face before I apply makeup and after I wash it off. I also use coconut oil to oil pull. Coconut oil can also reduce inflammation; it can treat acne, moisturize dry skin and help with eczema and psoriasis. After using, watch and feel how supple your skin is.

LEMON ESSENTIAL OIL

Lemon oil is an amazing essential oil it’s also known for the amount of Vitamin C it carries. It reduces the signs of aging, wrinkles and can be found in other beauty products. You can mix lemon oil with another carrier oil, like coconut oil and slather it on as a moisturizer. It can also prevent sun damage. However, citrus essential oils can make your skin sensitive to the sunlight, so in that aspect, you should be careful. When using this oil, you should use it at bedtime when you don’t have to go out in the sun.

FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL

Frankincense strengthens your skin. It improves the elasticity and tone of your skin. It helps reverse the aging process. Who wouldn’t be ecstatic about that benefit! Frankincense reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It’s beneficial for acne, scars, and wounds and will even lift your skin.  While it works wonders for your skin, it also works wonders in the health department too.

JOSIE MARAN 100-PERCENT PURE ARGAN OIL

Josie Maran is known for her skin care products.  This oil has tons of Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, which means it conditions, heals, nourishes and repairs dry skin. You can use it from head to toe as it conditions your hair and nails as well.

LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL

The lavender essential oil is sweet smelling and aromatic which can help you relax as well.  You can find this oil in many bath products. This oil can reduce the signs of aging, wrinkles and fine line if applied to the skin.

CARROT SEED ESSENTIAL OIL

Carrot seed oil is another amazing oil with great benefits. It has anti-aging properties that can also be found in many beauty products to reduce wrinkles, signs of aging, it can help tighten the skin and rejuvenate the skin. It can also make dull dry skin look brighter and lastly, you can use it to moisturize your hair. You’d definitely be doing yourself a favor by keeping this handy.

MYRRH ESSENTIAL OIL

Myrrh essential oil is another powerful oil that really benefits your skin. It’s great for aging skin. It tones, firms the skin, and assists with elasticity. It reduces fine lines and wrinkles. If using it for the face, I would definitely use a carrier oil with it like jojoba or grapeseed oil.

Bottom line, it takes a few minutes a day to pamper your skin. These essential oils are all amazing and can be used not just for your skin, and hair, but for other ailments as well. Most of these oils have fight cancers and other diseases. Nonetheless, do your due diligence and research! You can’t go wrong with any of these essentials. They are great to keep around the house and have so many multiple uses for them. While beauty may be the frontrunner for these oils; health is right alongside it. You’ll stay winning with any or all of these essential oils.
