Six Easy Ways to Bring More Color into Your Life

We all have a favorite color. Perhaps that color makes up the majority of our wardrobe, or it’s the color of our car. Perhaps it’s not even truly a color: maybe it is black or white. Whatever the case is, we could all benefit from expanding our color palettes and incorporating more shades of the rainbow into our lives.

How do we do that, though? You do not need to do anything drastic, like trading in your gray car for a bright yellow one. There are small things you can do to brighten up your life and your surroundings. Colors invoke certain moods and feelings from us, so surrounding yourself with all these hues is the perfect way to invigorate your mind. Here are just a few ways you can do that.

  1. Accessorize

The easiest way to add some pops of color into your life is with accessories. This could mean anything from stylish jewelry to very beautiful iPhone cases. Small items that you either have with you all or most of the time, or that you can change out whenever you choose, are great ways to incorporate new colors into your style. Whether you get a cute phone case, a new bright purse, or even some vivid hair dye, accessorizing is a great way to go.

  1. Change Your Wardrobe

Everyone has a favorite shirt, or a color they prefer to wear. If you want to expand your horizons, consider the fashion arena first. You can easily sort through your current wardrobe and get rid of or donate some old, plain clothes, and then begin to add some new shades to your clothing. If you tend to wear dark shades, look for brighter hues for a new adventure – try reds and oranges for fall. Clothes come in so many colors, you can easily add new fashions from the whole rainbow and beyond.

  1. Adult Coloring Books

If you already have a lot of rainbow brights in your clothing and accessories collections and want to focus on bringing variety into your lifestyle, consider an adult coloring book. From mandalas to nature scenes to books themed after specific popular culture references (such as Harry Potter), you can easily find a coloring book to make the most of your relaxation time. Adult coloring books are great for reducing stress and anxiety, and they are a wonderful way of expressing your creativity in a less drastic way than altering your wardrobe.

  1. Accessorize Your Living Space

Maybe jewelry and wardrobe changes aren’t really your style. Consider, then, adding some accents to your living spaces. If you have mostly neutrals in your home, consider colored rugs or throw pillows to inject new life into the decor. You could even redecorate your bedroom to become a tranquil relaxing space, with chic purple lamps or some greenery. There are so many options and styles out there – even monochrome and neutrals-lovers are bound to find something to challenge their tastes!

  1. Paint Your Nails

Some jobs require you to have neutral nail polish or none at all. However, a little way to rebel and bring a little something special to the plate is to have your toenails painted something bold and stylish. Maybe a bright pink or turquoise, or something with sparkle. Painted nails are a temporary way to express yourself and try out some bold shades that you wouldn’t normally wear.

  1. Paint the Walls

If you are more of a “go big or go home” kind of person, consider painting your walls, or even just a single wall – accent walls are incredibly popular. Against a neutral room, a teal or magenta accent will give the space a whole new atmosphere! Accent walls and painting are a big step, but they are guaranteed to make your life brighter.

There are many ways to brighten up your life. However you decide to do so, you can only benefit from adding some color to your daily routine.
