Here is an in-depth review on one of the most popular eyeshadow palettes in the beauty industry, the ABH Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette.

Hello lovelies! It has been a long time since my last makeup review. I’ve been busy AF since September therefore, I didn’t have enough time to take product shots et al. But anyway, let me make up with you by sharing my review on this beautiful eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

Released in summer 2016 and since then, ABH Modern Renaissance palette never leaves the top place in the eyeshadow game. This gorgeous palette retails for $42 with 14 shadows, 11 of which are matte. It also comes with a nice-sized mirror and a dual-ended eyeshadow brush.

It took me some time to decide whether or not to try this since I already have my 2 trusted eyeshadow palettes – Lorac Pro Palette 1 and Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I’m not the type who buys a lot of makeup then just letting them sit on my vanity for a long time. But yeah, I finally gave in when my mother-in-law flew to the US last July. Perfect time to save on international shipping and US taxes.

So I’ve been using this palette for almost six months, which is pretty obvious on the packaging lols.

The palette is very sturdy and its velvety exterior, ugh is so pretty. However, those stains seem pretty hard to remove without ruining the gorgeous packaging. 🙁

ABH Modern Renaissance Palette contains 14 shadows from neutral to berry tones.

A present-day take on Renaissance colors, this eye palette features 14 shades that let you create stylish, day to night looks. From the earthy yellow and ultra-matte finish of Golden Ochre to Primavera’s shimmer gold with a metallic finish, this palette’s high-pigment shadows are crease and fade-resistant and are sure to bring modern elegance to your eye looks.

I find its formulation same as my Lorac’s Pro Palette 1.

Most of the shadows have this soft and buttery texture with major fallouts. When I say major, I mean a LOT of powder comes off. And because of this, I always make sure to tap the brushes to remove excess product before applying. On the contrary, it has great pigmentation and works well even with a bare skin. Furthermore, I didn’t have a hard time blending especially those dark shadows. I love using the dual-ended eyeshadow brush that comes with it in packing some pigments at the outer corner of the eye.

My favorite shadows are the following: Raw SiennaBurnt Orange and Buon Fresco for the crease area. Realgar if I wanted the crease to look intense. Tempera as a highlight. Vermeer and Primavera, all over the lid. Cypress Umber and Antique Bronze for a smokey look.

Here are the looks I made on my beautiful models. Feel free to check out the videos on how I created these looks.

Can last up to 7 hours even without an eyeshadow primer.

Overall, this palette worth every penny! You can definitely create a gorgeous day to night look. The color selection is also great. I love they included berry tones that will push me to be more creative as a makeup artist. Best of all, it is formulated WITHOUT parabens, sulfates, and phthalates!

Have you also tried this palette? Please let me know in the comments below! 🙂
