Last May 10, 2017, the whole family went to Seoul, Korea for a vacation.
We were eight adults and four kids. The planning started when AirAsia had a seat sale promo last October 2016 and we’ve decided to book a flight. The planning became easier for us since my sister-in-law stayed there last year for an internship. She was very helpful in booking our hotel accommodation and making our to-do list, Thanks Ate! Fast forward to April 2017, our visa application went smoothly with the assistance of Royal Class Travel and Tour.
Finally, the day has come and all were excited. We left our house at 2:00 in the morning to catch a 7am flight. Thankfully, the kids were cooperative during the 4-hour flight including my 2-year old son. We arrived at Incheon International Airport around 2 in the afternoon. The weather was pretty cold.

Tip: To keep you updated with your social media, you can avail an internet sim like olleh by KT to save you from costly roaming charges. My sister-in-law bought the sims online and picked them up at Incheon airport. It costs around Php 1,000 for a duration of one week.
Inside a jumbo taxi on our way to the hotel
We booked a jumbo taxi (Driver’s Name: Lee Jung Woo, Mobile: 010-6719-1472, Email: email@example.com) to bring us to our hotel. A jumbo taxi can fit up to 8 persons (around 5000won/head), very comfortable and has its own WiFi connection. It took us 45 minutes to reach the hotel.
Loisir Hotel is located in Myeongdong, which is seated at the popular shopping street of Korean skincare and cosmetics. Location-wise, this 4-star hotel is a great choice. Rate starts from P2,600 ($52) per night for a deluxe room (without breakfast).

Here’s our room for 4 days and 3 nights. I love that it’s very cozy that makes me want to tuck under the sheets. The blanket is so soft and comfy!
The bathroom is spacious and complete with toiletries. I also love the huge mirror and the blow-dryer!
Amazing view from our hotel room
By 4 pm, we found ourselves exploring the street of Myeongdong to look for a place to eat.
We found this small restaurant that serves Korean barbecue and they taste pretty good.

Afterwards, we started walking to Namsan Cable Car that will bring us to Seoul Tower. You can, however, choose to grab a taxi going there to save time and of course, your energy.

Namsan Cable Car runs from the base of Namsan Mountain up to N Seoul Tower.
An adult one-way fare is 6,000 won ($6). Children under the age of 3 are free. You can visit their website for more details.
N Seoul Tower or Namsan Seoul Tower is a communication and observation tower located on top of Namsan Mountain and marks the highest point in Seoul. Since it was opened to the public in 1980, it has become Korea’s no. 1 tourist spot. The tower’s main attractions include multi-colored digital art projected onto the tower at night, a teddy bear museum, a digital observatory, a roof terrace, and Hancook (a Korean restaurant).
There is also a Locks of Love where thousands of padlocks are attached to the fence by couples symbolizing their eternal love.
What a great urban view! It reminds me of Makati City 🙂

That’s pretty much of it for our first day in Korea. Hope you enjoy and see you on our Day 2! 🙂

Certainly enjoyed reading your post. It must have been so fun travelling in a huge group.
Korea is one of my dream destinations. I'm a fan of KDramas kasi. Though, naisasantabi ko ngayon since may newborn ako. Haha! Anyway, the N Seoul Tower at night is so beautiful. And I love how you captured the photo. I bet it's lovelier in person!
Seoul seems like a really interesting place to visit. I haven't been there yet. It's great that you were already able to take your son. I'm sure it was a memorable experience for your family. 🙂
I'd love to visit South Korea in the near future. Especially all those places where the KDramas were taken hahaha 😀 #KDramaAddict Is traveling to S.Korea costly, or okay lang?
Your photo make me miss Seoul a lot! Can't wait to revisit again.
Wow looks like you all had so much fun on the 1st day, wish to know more about the trip.
Waaa! SK! And thank you sa pasalubong, gaw! ♥ Pero ang pogi ni Cloud, that's one! Ang ganda ng pwesto ng hotel nyo, that's two. Ang ganda ng lugar! Waaa. Sana makapunta din kami SK in the future.
The hotel room is pretty neat and spacious. Its a refreshing treat to sleep in a hotel room with real comfortable bed and pillows. I bet your little guy enjoyed his stay. But more than the hotel stay, wandering around Korea is indeed a nice experience especially if shared with the whole family. Dami nyo pala. Ihihi.
Love Korea, wish to travel there one day soon with buddies 🙂
