Throwing a Circus-Themed Birthday Party (For Keeps Photo + Yeah ShootPhotobooth Review)

For weddings, birthdays or even simple events, looking for a P&V (photo and video) suppliers is the most tedious part. As much as possible, you want the best suppliers (in the world) to keep your memories alive with incredible photos/videos that will capture your event’s highlights.
For Cloud’s birthday, I started looking for P&V suppliers since August 2015 so I could have enough time to check and choose which fits our qualifications (reviews and outputs) and of course, our budget. There are tons of P&V suppliers that you could find: from cheap to expensive and from beginners to veterans. Your pick! You just need to know what you really want for output because they are all different. And you also might consider your budget.

As I lurked at Girltalk forum, I’ve heard about For Keeps (David Lim and Jet Lamosa) with good impressions and reviews.
After browsing their photos and MTV-style videos from their past events which I liked plus they fit our budget, there was a sign of relief when I’ve found the right one for Cloud’s birthday. It may sound cliche but if you are a first-time mom who plans your baby’s first birthday by yourself, you can totally relate! After exchanging emails with David and Jet, I finally made a 1,000php reservation to block off our event date. Yehey!
So come January 24, I was glad they arrived an hour earlier. And finally, I got to meet the people I exchanged emails with hehe. Both Jet and David were very active during the event. I also love the way they captured the small details such as cake toppers and other DIYs. I will make a separate post for the DIYs soon.

Jet was able to capture the kids’ facial expressions during Erney’s performance which is great!

And now the exciting part, our MTV Style video!

Cloud_MTV from Mhaan Arambulo-Delos Santos on Vimeo.

David informed me that they will send the DVD within 6 to 12 days but to my surprise, I received them earlier, 5 days to be exact. What’s really more remarkable is that I really love the choice of song. It makes you groovin’ while listening to it and perfectly fits our carnival-theme party.

I will never get tired watching this video. *teary-eyed*

My only gripe is that after browsing the photos I noticed that NOT all the guests were taken especially those late comers (kasi naman late eh!). Though I understand that David and Jet were all focused on Erney’s performance and with the kids. I just hope they have someone who can still capture at the audience side. Other than that, For Keeps Photo is highly recommend.

Now moving on, I met Mommy Sheen of Yeah Shoot Photobooth last MBP (Mommy Bloggers Philippines) Christmas Party last year.

She mentioned that they have a photo booth business and held some gigs with MBP. I didn’t think twice to get them for my party because they are giving special discounts for MBP members like me. Yey!

What I like about them is that they are using a green screen instead of the usual white tarpaulin as a backdrop. To others, this may costs 5k to 7k for 4 hours. So trust me when I say I got a good deal! 🙂

Mommy Sheen was able to deliver the layout ahead of time and pretty quick to edit some changes based on our preferences.

With the late comers hehe

So I think that’s a wrap for this post.
I hope you find it helpful.

  1. Looks like the party is a hit. I've never planned anything this big before. It would be nice to do something like this for the twins but with a princess themed one.

  2. My son will be turning one this August and I've already kept in touch with one supplier you've mentioned before. First she asked me was: theme. And We might be having a circus themed party, too. Thank you for this. Your posts are indeed a great help to this mama.

  3. Looks like its an amazing party, goob job with the DIY planning 🙂 As early as now, I'm already planning my youngest baptismal and 1st birthday. Thank you for your reviews, will definitely check them out especially the photobooth.
