Our Anniversary Dinner at The Red Crab [Alimango House], Timog

After attending Health Cube’s Fight Like a Girl Pink Party in Greenhills, it’s time for Hubby and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary. *Happy anniversary to my best buddy!* We headed straight to Timog, Quezon City and decided to try The Red Crab [Alimango House].

If there is one thing that could make Hubby so giddy about, that would be crab dishes. He loves it so much!

The Red Crab was designed like an old Filipino house and mostly made of wood. Nothing fancy yet feels so homey. And I liked it. Old comic strips and movies like Pido Dida in frames are hanging on the walls for a flush of color.

Here we are, ready to get our hands dirtyyyy!
Β
Filipino Chopchop Salad 275php
This salad was filled with shrimps, cashew nuts, cheese, red egg, iceberg lettuce, and chicharon bits in honey-patis vinaigrette. I must admit, I’m already full by finishing this plate.Β

Szechuan Crab 220php/100g

First time I have seen a crab as huge as this!

Look, it almost fills the whole pan! I’m not a crab person but I really enjoyed this! It has the right amount of sweetness and the crab meat tastes fresh and so tender. Thanks to Hubby for scraping the crab meat for me since I’m a bit afraid that I might get pinched by the shell.Β

Prawns with Salted Egg and Aligue,Β 450php/250g

Simmered with aligueΒ sauce then topped with salted egg bits. It tastes not too salty as I’ve thought it would. The prawns were crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside.Β

We also enjoyed the place since it was quiet and only aΒ few people were diningΒ at that time. I find the place romantic but perfect for family gathering as well. With a wide selection ofΒ reasonably-pricedΒ seafood dishes, friendly and helpful staffs and a “feel-at-home” kind of vibe, The Red Crab is something I would certainly recommend for families who loves seafood dishes.
