MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in Up the Amp (Swatch + Review)

Β

Since I became a mother, I always go for more affordable make up products so I could spend the extra for my little one’s needs.

I do believe that there’s a lot of good yet affordable makeup in the market, you just have a little patience to find the right one. But of course, receiving a makeup as a present, that’s totally a different story. Who wouldn’t want free makeup right? That’s why I want to thank BIG time my mother-in-law for giving this MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in Up the Amp she bought from her US trip. Β Β
Β
Actually, this is my second time I owned a MAC lipstick, I used to have the famous MAC Ruby Woo which has a matte finished and tossed it a few months ago. To tell you honestly, I’m having a hard time applying that matte lipstick and it makes my lips really drying. I was able to use it occasionally for 3 years and it smells different that’s why I decided to finally throw it away.Β

Moving on, this amplified creme lipstick enclosed in a matte black-grayish bullet-like lipstick casing.

The cap shuts firmly to secure the product which I’m liking. As far as I know, this creme lipstick retails from 800php ($17) and available in all MAC counters. Β

Up the Amp is a lavender violet with cool undertone which is perfect for fair skin. I felt its smoothness upon swatching and realized, iba talaga ang MAC hahaha. It has a rich and creamy formula that makes the application easy breezy.Β

I love it! Up the Amp brings a whole different look from my usual pink lip color which I really love.

I was also amazed that it stays longer than to any cream lipsticks I tried which is 4-5 hours with eating and drinking. It also leaves stain at the end of the day, so retouching is just an option. Since it has a cream formula, it moisturizes your lips and keeping it away from dryness. On the side note, it somehow transfers so to avoid it, use a tissue paper to absorb the oil and turn it to a matte finished.Β

Pros:
Super pigmentedΒ
Has a rich and creamy formula
Easy to apply
Smells good
Moisturizes my lips
Long-lasting

Neutral:
Price

Cons:
It does transfers

Β Since I fell in love with this lipstick, I wanted to try other products from MAC! Calling the hubby! Can this be my Christmas present? *wide smile*

  1. I don't use makeup often, which is probably why I've never owned a tube of MAC lipstick myself. I do get to use it, though, when my makeup artist friend does me up for events. My fave is Pink Nouveau. πŸ™‚

  2. Awww… always wanted to have a MAC lippie but due to budget constraints, I can't afford to buy. The shade suits you well. I have a purple shade lippie/matte balm from Revlon ( no, I didn't bought it, I won in a contest.. hehe) and I so love the color. And also proved that purple shade lippie helps teeth appear whiter πŸ˜‰

  3. the lippie shade looks good on new. I have heard a lot of raves about MAC lipstick, especially that Ruby Woo shade but I am not really that much into make up that I was not curious to give it a try. But it won't hurt if someone will gift me with one, right? πŸ˜‰
